Welcome Future Eagles

Thanks for taking a further look in Eastern University Women's Lacrosse!

Eastern Lacrosse

Since joining the NCAA Division III in 1992, the Eastern Women's Lacrosse program was a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship contender. We pride ourselves in hard work and dedication to the sport of lacrosse. The program looks for athletes with drive, desire and discipline, who long to improve themselves in the sport of lacrosse, as well as, grow individually.

This year, the Eagles will attempt to return to the NCAA Tournament from the MAC. The move to a new league gives the Eastern team a great opportunity to compete against several of the top teams in the region.

Athletic Success

Prior to this year, Eastern Women's Lacross built a itself into a power in the PAC with three straight championships.   With that run of three straight Championships, the the Eagles have competed in the National tournament in each of the past three years.

Eastern Lacrosse has had very talented players come through the program. Andrea Collesidis 02' broke the NCAA All-Time Goal Scoring Record in all Divisions with 342 goals and 406 points. She was PAC Player of the Year in 2002 and led the team in scoring all 4 years she played. Kate Hoy('07) also earned All-America honors for the Eagles, and Jessie Basch ('09) led the nation in total points in 2007.

Coaching Staff

The coaching staff at Eastern provides the athletes with coaching and mentoring. Head Coach Camrin Azzarano has been involved with the program for 8 years and brings a love for the game, a high level of intensity, and a passion to see her team succeed on and off the field. Coach Azzarano is very involved with Eastern Athletics also working as Head Coach for the field hockey team. Assistant Coach Rachel Lenzo has been a part of the program for the last 9 years, 5 as a player and 4 years as a part of the coaching staff. Her responsibilities off the field with recruiting have been instrumental in bringing in strong talent for the future. Along with coaching at Eastern, Coach Lenzo volunteers time with Fellowship of Christian Athletes Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse Association.

Personal Growth

We long to create strong athletes while here at Eastern and have been successful in doing so. We also want to create women with strong character who know what the impact of helping others is. Our spring break trip down to Clearwater, Florida includes a lot of lacrosse, along with community service. In the past we have worked with The Attention Home for Boys and HARC (Hillsborough Association for Retarded Citizens). This is an experience that our players cherish and look forward to every year. We are able to really impact others lives and learn a lot about ourselves in the process.

In the Spring of 2009, Eastern University Women's Lacrosse will travel to Costa Rica during the break to prepare for the season and to work with those who have very little.

Player Testimonies

"My lacrosse experience at Eastern so far has been amazing because I have been able to grow as a player and a person. Being a part of a team is like having a built in family away from home. We laugh a lot, run a lot and win a lot! I can't wait for the next few years."

Erin Fries '09

"Looking back on my college years at Eastern, I have such great memories of being a part of the Women's Lacrosse Team. It's not the wins or losses or stats that I remember. It's the friendships my teammates and I built, and the memories we made. My only regret is that it went by too fast!"
