Eagles Slip Past Cougars

Codie Todd won both his matches as the Eagles topped Misericordia 5-4.
Todd and doubles partner Herschel Dube cruised to an 8-0 win at the third doubles spot. Todd, who normally plays sixth singles, came through with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the fifth singles spot. Tyler Schultz trailed 4-3 in the third set, but one the final three games for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at the second singles spot.
Jonny Shenk struggled in the early going of his third singles match but cruised home with a 7-5, 6-0 win and Mylon Weaver jumped to an early advantage and never looked back on the way to a 6-1,6-0 win at No. 4.
"It was good to finish with a win," said Head Coach Mark Spangler whose Eagles finish the year at 8-7. "[Tyler] Schultz came through with a huge point for us at two, and Codie did well."
The Eagles (8-7, 1-4 Freedom) finish with a 6-6 mark in the spring.
