WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- During the spring of 2012, a young Eastern University women's tennis team earned the fourth seed in the Freedom Conference Championships. As a reward for their efforts, the Eagles earned a match-up with top-seeded Wilkes University (18-0, 5-0 Freedom). The host Colonels held serve to earn a 5-0 win.

The Eagles won a pair of games in each of the top two doubles matches, but they were unable to secure a point in that part of the competition. Wilkes earned decisive wins at 2nd and 3rd singles to close out the match.

Eastern's team, with four first-year players in its top five spots,  finishes the 2011-12 season with a 9-6 mark. Seniors Jaquelyn Sauder and Amanda Prescott completed their Eastern tennis careers this afternoon.

Wilkes advances to take on the winner of King's and Misericordia.
