Reinhold Earns Lacrosse Honor

Courtney Reinhold swa her draw control numbers increase in each of her four seasons. After scoring 19 total goals in her first three seasons, she led the Eagles with 43 in her senior year.

GRAND LAKE, Colo.- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced All-Region Honors for the 2012 season. Eastern University senior midfielder Courtney Reinhold was named as a Second Team All-Boardwalk Region performer. It is the first time Reinhold, a four-time volleyball All-American, has received region recognition for women's lacrosse.

With graduation and injuries reducing the Eagles' offensive threats from 2011, Reinhold took more of an aggressive role in the attack for Eagles. Primarily a defensive and transition specialist in her first three seasons, Reinhold spent more time around the attacking fan in 2012. Her time in the offensive zone proved to be profitable as she led the Eagles with 43 goals. Just under half (47.3 percent) of her shots attempts resulted in goals. She scored at least one goal in every game except Eastern's lopsided win at Wilkes.

Her offensive development did not reduce her defensive responsibilities. The speedy midfielder was often required to use her strength and athleticism to match up with a top attacker from an opposing team. She led the Eagles with 40 caused turnovers, 61 draw controls, and 41 ground balls.
