Eagles Straighten Game at Bent Creek
LANCASTER, Pa.- Over the years, Bent Creek Country Club has done it fair share of damage to the psyche of Eastern University golfers. Today, however, the Eagles took a little bit back as they rode two top-20 finishes to a ninth place finish in the 16 team invitational hosted by Franklin and Marshall College.
The Eagles, playing in their first fall season, posted two scores in the 70's and three scores in the 80's to drop their total to 323. Five months ago, the Eagles did not have a single player break ninety on the same track and finished at the back of the pack against a similar field.
Junior Logan Maurer shot a four over 75 and freshman Ryan Torresin posted a 76 to lead the Eagles on the afternoon. Ben Dutcher (85) and Glenn Westerlund (87) also posted counting scores for the Eagles.
The Eagles will have the rest of September to continue to sharpen their games before resuming their fall schedule at Ursinus in October.
