Eagles Stopped in Fall Opener

Kathleen Duffy won her first college singles match.

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.- In its 2012-13 season-opener, Eastern University Women's Tennis took half the singles matches, but they dropped all three doubles contests and the match to visiting the Albright University Lions.

Jenna Laubach cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at the top singles match, but she and fellow sophomore Jenn Balbi fell 8-2 at the top singles spot. 

First-year players Kathleen Duffy and Esther Chang dropped their doubles match by a close 8-5 score, but both players rebounded to take their singles matches. Duffy won at No. 5 by a 6-3, 6-4 score. Chang won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6.

The Eagles return to action at Neumann on Thursday.
