Eagles Fall 8-1 To Knights

ASTON, Pa.--Eastern Women's Tennis suffered an 8-1 defeat at the hands of the Neumann University Knights Thursday afternoon.

Eastern's No. 1 sophomore Jenna Laubach earned the Eagles lone win, defeating Neumann's Breanne Klar 6-4, 6-0.

Eastern Coach Mark Spangler said that Laubach played a very good match against a solid Neumann player. Laubach and Klar were tied at four games each in the first set. Laubach trailed 15-40 in the ninth game, but came back to break Klar's serve and win the eight remaining games.

Coach Spangler noted that the Eagles will be working on doubles play before the MAC individual tournament Oct. 6 and 7.
