Eagles Tame Berkshire Course

Ryan Torresin's two-over 73 is his second-lowest score of the fall.

WYOMISSING, Pa.- One day after shooting a disappointing 80 at the LVC Invitational, Ryan Torresin carded a meet-low 73 on the par 71 Berkshire Country Club Course to lead the Eagles to a win over Albright and Valley Forge Christian.

Torresin's tough round at LVC had a nearly unbelievable story. While helping an opponent look for a lost ball in the rough off the fourth fairway, Torresin and his playing partners disrupted a bee's nest. In a scene reminiscent of a scene from the Hunger Games, the playing group scattered and the bees pursued. Torresin, it turns out, has more luck with birdies than with bees. Three stings around his left eye left him very uncomfortable for the remaining 14 holes and barely able to see through the swelling.

Today's steady round had way less drama. With his vision intact, Torresin finished his loop seven strokes ahead of the next golfer.

Logan Maurer carded the second lowest score at the meet with a solid 80 and Ben Dutcher carded an 89. The Eagles finished with a 339 total.

Eastern will finish the fall season this Thursday at the Ursinus Invitational.
