Ferguson Named Player of the Week

Grant Ferguson has 11 very stylish goals to start the 2012 season.
Because the award was the first of the year, the recognition is given for his work in the first three games. Ferguson, an attackman, has been dominant through the opening of the year. He has 11 goals and a pair of assists and had at least three goals in each of Eastern's three wins.
Ferguson scored three times in a 9-7 win over McDaniel to open the year and added three more with a helper in a 13-7 win over Swarthmore. This past Saturday, Ferguson notched five goals and an assist in a 13-2 win over Hood. He had three goals and an assist in the first 12 minutes to help the Eagles to a 6-0 first-period lead.
Ferguson, who missed the latter part of the the 2012 season, now has 32 goals and 16 assists in 16 career games.
Ferguson is off to a tremendous start, but he is not the only Eastern attackman to be productive in the early going. Zac Ivy and Chris Farrar have also recorded at least two points in each of the first three games of the year.
The Eagles are in California this week for an important non-league test against Whittier.
