Eagles Fall to Malone

HILTON HEAD, S.C.- Eastern University Women's Tennis dropped its first match of the spring to Malone University. The Eagles, playing outdoors for the first time since October, did not take a point off the Pioneers.

Sophomores Jenna Laubach and Jenn Balbi had some bright moments in an 8-4 loss at first doubles. Kim Kirk took four games in the first set at No. 4 singles beforefalling 6-4, 6-1.

Though the results did not come today, Head Coach Mark Spangler saw progress for his team in the day and felt the level of competition will help his team going forward.

The young Eastern squad continues its spring break trip in Hilton Head throughout the week. The Eagles take on Lebanon Valley College tomorrow.
