Brandon Childs begins his third year at the helm of the Eastern Men's Lacrosse Program. In his second year, Childs brought a wealth of young and talented players into the fold, and the Eagles finished the regular season in a three-way tie for second place in the MAC. In their nine league wins in 2010, the young Eastern side downed Conference champion Widener University 7-5 to open the year, and won in overtime at Elizabethtown to hand the top-seeded Blue Jays their only loss in MAC play.

The Eastern success came with 22 new players on the roster. The recruiting class for 2010 included first-year athletes from 11 different states.

He guided the Eagles to a playoff berth in their first season in the MAC. Under his leadership, the team battled with each of the top teams in the league and recorded a win at Messiah College in their first league game. Messiah had been picked as the pre-season favorite.

Childs brings a passion for excellence and a commitment to the University as he seeks grow Eastern into a program that competes with the top teams in the region. His enthusiasm for the game and desire to develop players into men of character and outstanding student-athletes makes him an outstanding fit in the department. In his first year, he has expanded the program's recruiting base and he brought in a class of  21 new players to replace the twelve graduating seniors from the class of 2009.

Childs is a 2004 graduate of Lynchburg College. As a player, Childs twice earned recognition as an All-American, and earned Scholar All-American honors from the USILA in his senior season. A two-time captain, Childs began his coaching career as an assistant at Lynchburg, where he continued in his studies toward a Masters in Educational leadership, which he completed in May of 2008.
