Eagles' Match at Cabrini Suspended
The host Cavaliers had the best of it in doubles play. Cabrini rolled through the third doubles match 8-3 and earned tight wins at the top two doubles spots.
Down 3-0, the Eagles had very little margin for error, and in the first four matches to hit the courts, the Eagles were on point. Jason Spargo won 6-3,6-2 at sixth singles, and Cody Todd ground out a tough 6-3, 7-5 win at fifth singles.
Mylon Weaver and Grant Williams worked through their matches in straight sets at the number four and two flights to put the Eagles up 4-3 with two matches to play.
The Cavaliers grabbed the early advantage in both those matches with first-set wins, but Dan Fowler was up 5-2 in the second set at first singles, and Tyler Schultz battle back to take the second set of his match 6-3. Eastern need to win one of those matches to take the rivalry win.
Eastern continues their traveling ways with a trip to Lancaster Bible tomorrow and a doubleheader match with the women at Stevenson on Thursday. Stevenson is the first Freedom Conference contest of the year.
