Logan Maurer avoided any big numbers on the way to a steady 79 at the Moravian Invitational.

DANIELSVILLE, Pa.-- Easten University Men's Golf saw scores and putts fall, but the Eagles finished 12th in a closely bunched field with a 346. Logan Maurer made eleven pars on the way to a 12th place 79.

All the players had to battle tough winds, cold weather, and early-season course conditions. Freshman Ryan Torresin finished a couple shots back with an 82 on the 6,239 yard track. Torresin made a pair of birdies but also carded a couple doubles.

Ben Dutcher carded a 92, and Billy Jackson and David DiPirro carded matching 93s to round out the scoring for the Eagles. Eastern finished one shot behind Misericordia and Valley Forge Christian, and within sight of a whole group of schools in the low 330s and high 320s. Keystone College won the invitational with an impressive 314.

"Individual scores continue to improve," Easten assistant coach Derek Smith noted, "and we are optimistic that scores will start to reflect the hard work the team has invested in getting better over the winter."

The Eagles are back in action at LedgeRock Golf Club in an invitational hosted by Alvernia College on Tuesday.
