Eagles Wallop Nittany Lions 8-1

Jenna Laubach earned a 6-3, 6-2 win on Thursday.

ABINGTON, Pa.--Eastern Women's Tennis earned its second win of the season with an 8-1 win against PSU-Abington on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles cleaned up in doubles, winning 8-3, 8-3 and 8-6. Coach Mark Spangler commented that Eastern had made significant improvements in their doubles play in practice this week and were able to employ those changes in Thursday's match.

Jenna Laubach took her No. 1 singles' match 6-3, 6-2 over Abington's Jenny Abraham. Laubach improved to 5-3 in singles' play this year.

Nicole Filipek earned her first collegiate singles' win, going 6-2, 6-0 over Abington's Christiana Pereira.

The Eagles host Wilkes University on Saturday.
