Doubles' Trouble Hurts Eagles At Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa.--Eastern Men's Tennis took the top four matches in singles' play against Arcadia University Tuesday, but lost all three doubles' matches en route to a 5-4 loss.

Three of the singles' wins were battles for the Eastern Eagles, going to super-tiebreakers. Dan Fowler dropped his first set in a tiebreaker game, but rallied to win the second set 6-4 and the super-tiebreaker. Tyler Schultz took the No. 3 match with a 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 win, and Mylon Weaver also went the distance. He was edged in a tiebreaker game in his first set, controlled the second set 6-3 and took the super-tiebreaker.

Grant Williams cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 2 spot.

The Arcadia Knights defeated Eastern's doubles' lineup 8-5, 8-5, 8-2.

The Eagles will wait a week before returning to the court to play FDU-Florham. The home, conference match begins at 3:00 p.m., April 16.
