Eagles Roll Past Lions

Kim Kirk won at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.

BRYN ATHYN, Pa.- Eastern University Women's Tennis rolled to a 9-0 win at Bryn Athyn College.

The Eagles (3-8) dropped only three games in singles competition on the way to the win.

Eastern controlled points through the doubles portion of the contest. Jenna Laubach and Jenn Balbi won 8-2 at first doubles and Erika McChesney and Kim Kirk battled to an 8-3 win at the second spot. Nicole Filipek and Kathleen Duffy won 8-2 at No. 3.

Laubach had several good points at first singles before emerging with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Balbi lost a game in the second set at No. 2. Kirk, Elaine Grazulis, Filipek, and Duffy all won their matches without dropping a game.

The Eagles return to conference action with a home match against FDU-Florham next Tuesday.
