Slide Continues at King's

ImageWILKES-BARRE, Pa.- A short-handed Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell behind early and was unable to make up ground in a 17-7 loss at King's College (5-7, 2-1 Freedom) this afternoon. Sara Blaylock scored four times in the loss.

The Monarchs had a 12-5 advantage in first-half draw controls and were able to convert that possession into a 27-7 advantage in shots and a 12-4 halftime lead. King's led 9-2 at the midway point of the period before Victoria Graham set up Blaylock with her second of the game to briefly close the gap. The Monarchs scored three more times before Blaylock closed the first-half scoring with an unassisted tally.

Eastern goalie Cortney Andes made 12 of her 18 saves in the first half.

The deficit was 16-5 at the midway point of the second half. The Eagles scored twice in the final ten minutes. Graham finished with two goals and an assist, and Shannon Wilcox also scored.

Eastern (0-11, 0-3 Freedom) hosts FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon.
