Dan Mouw recently completed his eighth season at Eastern. The 2009 Eagles featured eight new starters but still was able to repeat as Freedom Conference Champions. After winning their third conference championship in as many years, the Eagles earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over 13th ranked Virginia Wesleyan College to again advance to the NCAA 2nd Round.

Six Eastern players earned All-Conference honors, two were named to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region team, and Jill DiRenzo, the program's leader in career goals, earned 3rd Team All-America recognition.

Midway through 2009, Mouw earned his 100th win. Mouw currently holds a 105-53-7 mark at Eastern. During his tenure, the Eagles have qualified for post-season play in each season.  Twice he has been recognized as Conference Coach of the Year, and his players have earned recognition at the Conference, Regional, and National levels. The Eagles have been ranked in the Mid-Atlantic Region in each of the last four years.

In 2008, the team earned a Freedom Conference Championship in their first year in the League and advanced to the National Quarterfinals in the NCAA Tournament. The Elite Eight appearance is a first for any Eastern University team. The Eagles finished with a 17-6 mark on the year. The Eagles accomplished this while playing an outstanding schedule that included games against several top 10 opponents. They were ranked 13th in the final NSCAA National Poll.

Eastern Women's Soccer went unbeaten at home with a 32-1 scoring margin on their home turf. Seven Eastern players earned All-Conference Recognition and Ashley Hackman and Steffie Sauder were both named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team, which recognized 11 women's soccer players from all the Colleges and Universities in the Philadelphia Area for their work on the field and in the classroom. Hackman earned her second straight Conference Player of the Year and All-America Honor. In addition, hackman was selected as the Southeast Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Women's Soccer Player of the Year.

The 19-4 Eagles advanced to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the PAC Championship with an undefeated regular season and a pair of shutout wins in the Conference Playoffs. The Eastern Women outscored their opponents 81-16 through the year. The Eagles finished the year in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings and had two players recognized as 1st Team All-Mid-Atlantic Regional players. In addition, Ashley Hackman became the first women's soccer player in program history to earn All-America recognition.

Mouw came to Eastern from the Chicago area where he was a successful high school and club coach for nine years. A 1993 graduate of Taylor University, Mouw played his collegiate soccer for both Taylor and Wheaton College. He came to Eastern for the chance to work in a Christian College with a distinctive mission and tremendous opportunity for growth.

For two weeks in May of 2008, Coach Mouw and 16 members of the Eastern team traveled to South Africa for an extended soccer and ministry tour. The Eagles had opportunity to work in the Townships with children and to play games against the South African U20 National Team.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Eastern, Mouw serves as Sports Information Director. The second of six children, he lives in Philadelphia. In Philadelphia he lives just a couple blocks away from two of his sisters and their families. His younger brother and sister have both worked as college coaches.

Coach Mouw looks to continue taking the women's soccer program to new heights.
