Three Honored By Freedom Conference

Dan Fowler went 3-2 in Freedom Conference play at the top singles spot. The junior transfer had an 8-5 overall record.

ANNVILLE, Pa.- The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today announced conference honors for Men's Tennis. Eastern University had three men recognized on the Freedom Conference All-Conference list.

Dan Fowler played at the top singles spot through out the year and finished with an 8-5 mark. In Freedom Conference play, he finished 3-3. He was named to the Freedom Confernece second team. All three of his losses in league play came against players on the first team.

Fowler teamed up with Tyler Schultz to claim a critical doubles win in the Eagles' 6-3 victory at Misericordia. He rallied from a first-set loss to win in three sets and help complete Eastern's come-from-behind win at Cabrini.

Schultz and Grant Williams were recognized as Honorable Mention All-Freedom performers. The two had identical 9-4 singles results for the year. Schultz was 3-3 in the Freedom Conference at the third spot, and Williams was 3-3 at No. 2.

The young Eagles are scheduled return five of six starters. Despite struggling with doubles play for the whole year, Eastern finished 6-7 overall. Wilkes University swept the major awards with Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year honors.
