Sproles Earns POTW Honors

Lauren Sproles had 43 kills in the Week as the Eagles went 4-0.

Lauren Sproles (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) recorded 43 kills while helping Eastern to four wins this past week.

ANNVILLE, Pa.--The Middle Atlantic Conferences named Lauren Sproles the Freedom Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 23-29.

Sproles (Lititz, Pa./ Warwick) helped the Eagles to a 4-0 record this week, including wins over nationally-ranked teams, No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and No. 19 Christopher Newport University.

Sproles, a junior outside hitter, earned tournament MVP honors at the CNU Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Her 13 kills against both Wisc.-Whitewater and CNU were team bests. She hit .393 against CNU and .287 for the week.

Sproles started the week with 11 kills in a conference win over DeSales University and added six against the University of Scranton on Friday.

The Eagles improved to 16-2 this season are currently ranked No. 15 in the country.

Eastern plays at Wilkes University on Wednesday and hosts No. 20 Stevenson University and also Messiah College on Saturday.
