Eagles Fall To Falcons

GRANTHAM, Pa.--Eastern Field Hockey fell 7-2 at Messiah College on Wednesday night, dropping to an 5-5 this season.

The Falcons attack was led my Moriah Pfautz's three goals.

Eastern's Megan Bolton and Abby Wagner scored in the loss. Bolton, a defender, now has a team high 10 goals this season. Bolton scored off a corner in the 62nd minute. Wagner scored on a chip shot in the 31st minute.

Messiah scored its first goal 2:18 into the game and led 3-0 before Wagner scored in the 31st minute. Wagner has five goals this season.

Messiah pulled away with three goals in the first four minutes of the second half. After a Messiah goal midway through the period, Bolton added her goal to make it 7-2.

The Eagles had time in the Messiah zone with 11 penalty corners and 10 shots, but the Falcons were more efficient with their 14 penalty corner opportunities.

Eastern returns to Freedom Confernece play at DeSales University on Saturday at noon.
