Six Eagles Receive Regional Distinction

ImageLEXINGTON, Ky.--The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the members of the 2013 All-Region Teams on Thursday. The six Eagles that earned Freedom Conference recognition were all also recognized in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Senior Kearby Benak (Houston, Texas/ Langham Creek) represented Eastern Volleyball on the Mid-Atlantic Region Team for the third season in a row. Junior middle hitter Katrina Pisch (Blue Bell, Pa./ Merion Mercy) makes her second appearance on the All-Region list. Sophomore setter Rikki Schlager (Lititz, Pa./ Manheim Creek) and freshman libero Rylie Haas (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) earned their first All-Region honor.

The AVCA also recognized junior Lauren Sproles (Lititz, Pa./ Manheim Twp.) and freshman Stephanie Elechko (Lansdale, Pa./ North Penn) as honorable mention players.

Eastern plays Johns Hopkins University at Juniata College on Friday at 12:30 p.m. in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
