Bolton Named All-Region

Eastern University defender Megan Bolton was selected to the NFHCA's South Atlantic All-Region First Team.

Eastern University defender Megan Bolton was selected to the NFHCA's South Atlantic All-Region First Team.

CHANDLER, Ariz.—The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released the 2013 All-Region honors on Monday. Eastern University Field Hockey’s Megan Bolton was selected to the South Atlantic First Team.

Bolton (Souderton, Pa./ Christopher Dock) earned the Freedom Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year honors. A sophomore, Bolton led the conference in defensive saves with seven. While recognized for her defensive ability, Bolton also led the Eagles in scoring this season with 16 goals (fourth in the conference). Bolton went a perfect 6-for-6 in penalty strokes this season, including two game-winning strokes in overtime.
