Eagles' Steph Hogan showed a strong defensive effort and caused three Albright turnovers.

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.--Eastern Women's Lacrosse fell behind early in Wednesday afternoon's chilly home game against Albright College, and stormed back to within one by halftime.

However, the Eagles were shut out in the second half and fell to the Albright Lions 18-8.

Albright scored 21 seconds into Wednesday's game and were up 6-0 less than six minutes into the game.

Eastern's caleigh Falco won the Eagles first draw control of the game with 24:45 to play in the first half and two minutes later the Eagles cracked the score column. Eastern's Sara Blaylock buried a free position shot with 22:06 to go. Blaylock led the Eagles with three goals, three ground balls, and four draw controls.

Blaylock's goal sparked a 5-1 Eastern run over the next 10 minutes. Albright put two more goals on the board with 10:24 and 9:04 on the clock, but the Eagles finished the half with three free-position goals, one from Blaylock and two from Jenn McKelvie.

The Eagles closed out the half down 9-8, but the Lions scored nine unanswered goals in the second half to put the game away.

Angalena Malavenda, Caleigh Falco, and Kelsie Andrews each scored once for the Eagles. Amanda Smith scored six goals to lead the Lions.
