ANNVILLE, Pa.--Eastern Women's Basketball had four players recognized by the Freedom Conference for their achievements this season.

Eagles' freshman center Emily Lavin (North Middletown, N.J./ Middletown North) earned Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year honors. Meghan Nowak (Woodbury Heights, N.J./ Gateway Regional) earned First-Team honors, Kaitlyn Dougherty (Exton, Pa./ Downingtown East) was named to the Second Team, and Gina DiDomenico (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./ Egg Harbor Twp.) earned an Honorable Mention.

Lavin, in her freshman campaign, recorded 8.7 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and 3.25 blocks per game. Lavin led the conference in blocks and at the end of the regular season was 13th in the country in the blocks. She also finished fifth in the conference in field goal percentage (49.7 percent).

Meghan Nowak, who was the conference’s Rookie of the Year in 2011-2012 season, was named to the First Team for the third season in a row. She finished fifth overall in the league in scoring and rebounding this season with 16.2 ppg and 8.5 rpg. In conference games only this year, Nowak finished third in the conference in scoring and rebounding. Nowak has 1,343 career points, putting her in fifth place all-time at Eastern.

Kaitlyn Dougherty and Gina DiDomenico are receiving recognition from the conference for the first time. Dougherty was fifth in assists per game (3.6) and 10th in scoring (13.4 ppg). Dougherty scored in double-digits in all but five games this season and scored 349 points, putting her at 801 points for her career.

DiDomenico shot 41.1 percent this season from behind the 3-point line to lead the conference. Her 108 career 3-pointers are fourth-best all-time at Eastern.

The Eagles made it to the Freedom Conference Semifinals for the third season in a row and ended the year with a 14-12 mark. With these four players returning next year, the Eagles should be strong contenders once again.
