Ferguson Named Men's Lacrosse POTW

ANNVILLE, Pa.--Grant Ferguson of Eastern Men's Lacrosse was named the Freedom Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Ferguson is the recipient of the first player of the week award which includes Eastern's first two weeks of games. Eastern beat Greensboro College, Swarthmore College and Haverford College in those three games.

In those three games, Ferguson has been a model of offensive efficiency. The junior attack scored 16 goals and added an assist on only 25 total shots. Ferguson netted a school-record nine goals against Greensboro, five against Swarthmore and two against Haverford. Goalies have stopped only five of his 21 shots on goal.

Goal-scoring is nothing new for the Rochester, N.Y. native. Ferguson set a school record with 54 goals in his sophomore campaign. He has 91 goals in his first 31 games. With his two goals on Saturday, he moved into second on Eastern's career list. He is eght goals behind Chris Farrar's school-record 99.

The Eagles play twice in Virginia Beach this week. They will play Christopher Newport on Thursday and against Ferrum on Saturday.
