Dave Darling (San Diego, Calif./ Mt. Carmel) was named the Freedom Conference's Player of the Week.

ANNVILLE, Pa.—Dave Darling earned Freedom Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday after helping lead Eastern Men’s Lacrosse past No. 12 York College last week.

Darling (San Diego, Calif./ Mt. Carmel) accumulated seven points in Wednesday’s 10-9 win, scoring three goals and dishing out four assists.

Darling scored all three of his goals in a 1:41 span to close out the first quarter and start the second quarter. He then found Eric Waibel, Andy Jameson and Grant Ferguson for man-up goals in the second quarter to help Eastern build a 6-2 lead. After York tied the game at 9-9 in the fourth quarter, Darling found Ferguson for the game-winning goal with 2:53 to play.

His 20 assists are tops on the team. He is also third on the team with 15 goals.

Eastern, 6-4 on the year, begins conference play at King’s College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
