Eastern's Grant Ferguson (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) and Joe Palo (Horsham, Pa./ Hatboro-Horsham) earned Freedom Player of the Week honors.

ANNVILLE, Pa.—Joe Palo and Grant Ferguson earned Freedom Conference Player of the Week Honors after winning two Freedom Conference games this week.

The Eagles defeated King’s College on the road 14-11 on Wednesday and then beat FDU-Florham 20-3 on Saturday.

Palo (Horsham, Pa./ Hatboro-Horsham), a junior faceoff specialist, won 20-of-28 faceoffs at King’s and 13-of-15 faceoffs against FDU-Florham.  Palo also picked up 19 groundballs in the wins. Palo has won 100-of-162 faceoffs this season (61.7 percent).

Ferguson (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) scored six goals on Wednesday to help carry Eastern past King’s. His six goals came on seven shots on goal. FDU-Florham attempted to shut Ferguson down by starting Saturday’s game with a defender shadowing Ferguson everywhere he went, but that strategy didn’t last long after that opened up an easy goal for the Eagles. Ferguson scored a goal and dished out an assist on Saturday. For the week, in addition to his seven goals and two assists, Ferguson also had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

The Eagles (8-4, 2-0 Freedom) play at Arcadia on Wednesday and host Misericordia on Saturday.
