Eagles Stopped By Devils

Landon Walter won No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-0.

MADISON, N.J.--Eastern Men's Tennis fell 6-3 on the road to the FDU-Florham Devils on Wednesday.

The Eagles struggled in doubles play, falling 8-3, 8-2, and 8-4. Dan Fowler, Tyler Schultz and Landon Walter won their singles matches. Fowler's match went three sets. Fowler dropped his first set, but won the second set 7-6 on a 7-2 tie-breaker game. Fowler then won the tie-breaker set 10-4.

Schultz and Walter won their matches in straight sets. Grant Williams took FDU's Mitch Gettis to a third set in the No. 1 singles match, but fell 6-2 in the final set.

The Eagles, now 5-6 (0-3 Freedom), travel to Misericordia University on Friday.
