ALLENTOWN, Pa.—Eastern Women’s Golf won the Muhlenberg University Invitational on Monday afternoon, beating out Muhlenberg, Manhattanville College and Ursinus College.

The Eagles shot 393 as a team at the par-70 Lehigh Country Club thanks to season lows by three players: Kaleigh Boreman, Bianca Scrimali and Melissa Wylie.

Boreman led the Eagles with a 90 after shooting a 42 on her opening nine. Boreman finished third overall.

Scrimali, who had shot her previous season best on April 13 with a 97, finished on Monday with a 92. She took fifth place.

Wylie finished with a career-best 103 for the third Eastern card. Eagles head coach Jason Badecki said he was impressed with the tremendous improvement Wylie has made this season, cutting 36 strokes off her score from her first match of the season to Monday’s tournament.

Coach Badecki noted that beating Middle Atlantic Conference opponent Manhattanville may help with the team’s confidence entering the MAC championship on Sunday.

The Eagles will get in their final practices this week in preparation of defending their title from last season. This year’s winner of the MAC championship will receive an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA tournament.
