Eagles Complete Rd. 2; Rd. 3 Halted
Lightning delayed play on both Wednesday and Thursday, forcing the Eagles to finish the final 12 holes of round two early Thursday morning. After wrapping up round two, the Eagles moved on to a shotgun start for round three and made it about halfway through the course before play was suspended for the night.
After two complete rounds, Kaleigh Boreman continued to lead the Eagles with a 191. Bianca Scrimali came in six strokes behind Boreman. Senior Sarah Webb trimmed eight shots from her first round total to finish with 98 in round two and 204 after two rounds. The Eagles shot 810 over two rounds and remained in 19th place of 21 squads.
Webb then continued to play the first 11 holes of round three. Scrimali made it through eight holes, Boreman nine and Sarah Hart and Kearby Benak, 10, before prolonged lightning delays and eventual darkness suspended play for the day.
The Eagles and the rest of the competition will have double-duty again tomorrow as they try to complete round three in the early morning and then continue to round four in the afternoon.
